New Delhi, Monday, 28 September 2009: Ms Huwaida Arraf, the Palestinian-American who is spearheading the international effort to defeat the cruel Israeli blockade of Gaza Strip through the "FREE GAZA BOAT MOVEMENT", is visiting India at present and she will be in Delhi during 28-30 Sept. during which she will meet community and political leaders, members of Parliament and government and will speak to the media.
A meeting has been arranged TODAY at the Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat office (D-250 Abul Fazal Enclave, part 1, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi – which is situated in the lane between Jamaat-e Islami Hind and Ahl-e Hadees compuses). The meeting will start at 6 pm on Monday, 28 Sept. All, especially mediapersons, are welcome to attend.
Ms Huwaida Arraf
Huwaida Arraf (born 1976 in Detroit, Michigan) is a Palestinian activist and co-founder of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), a pro-Palestinian organization. The stated mission of the ISM is to resist the Israeli occupation using nonviolent tactics. Arraf, who is Christian, is the daughter of a Israeli Arab father and a Palestinian mother. Her parents moved from Palestine to be able to raise Arraf away from the violence there. Arraf majored in Arabic and Judaic studies and political science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Huwaida later earned a J.D. at American University`s Washington College of Law. Her focus was on International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, with a particular interest in war crimes prosecution.
