Dear Shri Ganguly,
I thank you sincerely for the pains you have taken to
compile the figures about Urdu in your letter of 14 July, 2005.
I presume that the examinees of X and XII who offered
Urdu as one of the two languages, had taken English as the Second
Language. Thus, they lost the
opportunity of learning Hindi as Second Language.
However, I do not agree with you that the present CBSE
System amounts to implementation of the Three Language Formula. What you are stating is that the CBSE
operates its own Two Language Formula from VIII to XII which are largely English
and Hindi.
This needs to be reviewed, at least
at X level.
With kind regards,
Yours sincerely,
(SYED SHAHABUDDIN)
