STATEMENT
Commemoration of Gandhiji`s Birth Anniversary by the RSS
An Act of Piracy like in the Case of Vivekananda, Aurobindo, Bose and Ambedkar
To Cover its Fascist and Anti-National Face and to Project a Secular and Nationalist Facade
AIMMM Cautions People against Political Gimmickry by the RSS
New Delhi, 3 October, 2005: Shri Syed Shahabuddin, President of the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), has issued the following Statement :-
"While any individual or organization is free to celebrate Gandhiji`s birth anniversary, the first ever programme organized by the RSS, in Bhopal on 2 October, 2005, is nothing but an act of piracy against the national heritage of Gandhiji as they have tried in the cases of Swami Vivekananda, Shri Aurobindo, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and project them as icons of Hindutva.
Obviously the names of their progenitors Savarkar and Hedgewar are not attractive enough for it to sell itself to the Hindu community and also they need to identify themselves with glorious national heroes to provide a secular and nationalist cover for its communal, fascist and anti-national ideology.
The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) condemns this piracy and cautions the people of the country not to be misled by this conspiracy and political gimmick by the RSS."
